The Story and Curator
At a young age, I spent my summers with my Abuelito and Abuelita in a small coastal town. A fond memory from this time was watching my Abuelito search the local recycling centre for forgotten treasures, he was always on the hunt for something to revive.
I believe witnessing this shaped my love for finding value and purpose in things once forgotten.
For years, I've lived in the world of thrifting, styled spaces, and visual merchandising. I've spent countless hours sourcing and rehoming special pieces, learning to find the right ones for the right person.
I've always been drawn to pieces where you can sense the hands that shaped them and the story behind them.
Lately, I've expanded into sourcing from makers and wholesalers whose work carries the same soul I seek in vintage finds. Whether new or old, every piece chosen is done so with care.
The name Madré means mother in spanish, a tribute to my mama who I lost in 2022 and the love I've found in being one myself.
This is the story behind Madré.
And I hope in some way, you find a piece of your story here too.
